"Pettersson and Findus 3" shoots at MMC Studios

Shooting of "Pettersson and Findus - Findus moves" is currently underway at MMC Studios. For the start of shooting of the third part of the "Pettersson and Findus" series, Tradewind Pictures and co-producers Senator Film Produktion and Chimney / Firsteight invited the press on February 8, 2017 to a Tour of the set at MMC Studio 53 in Cologne invited.

In "Pettersson and Findus III" embodies Stefan Kurt the oddball Pettersson in interaction with 3D animated tomcat Findus. Marianne Sägebrecht is in the role of the warm-hearted Beda Andersson and Max Herbrechter as the grumpy neighbor Gustavsson.

Director Ali Samadi Ahadi has already directed the first two live-action adaptations "Kleiner Quälgeist - große Freundschaft" and "Das schönste Weihnachten überhaupt" at MMC Studios.

In order to be able to transfer the imaginative look of the original picture books into the film, for "Findus moves the complete farm of the oddball Pettersson in the highest studio of MMC recreated. Thus, the press in the 26-meter-high and 2,000-square-meter MMC Studio 53 felt transported to a Swedish country idyll.

The large blue screen that surrounds the set and forms the background for the set extensions that are later added via VFX, however, already indicate that a film with a very high proportion of visual effects is being created here.

Indeed, "Pettersson and Findus - Findus moves" - like its two predecessors - ranks among the most elaborate children's and family films ever produced in Germany. The combination of live-action film with lifelike computer-animated characters requires a total budget of about 8 million euros.

About the content:
Findus the cat thinks he is old and big enough to move out of Pettersson's little house. He wants to live in the future - at Pettersson's not entirely serious suggestion - in a converted outhouse in the yard. Pettersson is anything but delighted about the separation, even though the little tomcat annoys him mightily: for Findus is primarily concerned with pursuing his new favorite pastime at all times - extensive hopping on mattress springs. Findus enjoys his newfound freedom - until one night the fox creeps around the outhouse.

The children's and family film is based on the Children's books by Sven Nordqvist, "Findus zieht um" and "Pettersson zeltet", and is a production of Tradewind Pictures in co-production with Senator Film Produktion, ZDF and Chimney / Firsteight. On the MMC side, the project is overseen by Bastie Griese (Managing Director MMC Movies) and Tobias Velmans (MMC Account Manager Studios).

The film was supported by Film- und Medienstiftung NRW, Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung, HessenFilm und Medien, MFG Filmförderung Baden-Württemberg, the German Federal Film Board (FFA), the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media and the German Federal Film Fund (DFFF).

Wild Bunch Germany will release the film in German theaters in 2018.
