The drama-adventure series ‘Wild Republic’ which was partly shot at MMC Studios will be presented at the digital edition of the Berlinale Series Market & Conference on Wednesday, March 3rd at 10:50 a.m.
Actress Emma Drogunova, director Markus Goller as well as producers Nils Dünker and Uwe Schott will present the series. The audience will see an exclusive sneak peek and scenes straight from the set.
The eight-part series tells the story of a group of youth offenders who have lost trust in the state and the justice system as a result of their personal experiences. After a tragic incident during a re-socialization program, they take refuge in the high Alps. Fighting against the forces of nature and their own aggression, they form a new society – according to their own laws.
Large parts of ‘Wild Republic’ have been shot at MMC Studios Köln GmbH. Based on the production design by Claus Rudolf Amler, the MMC Art Department had built a huge cave – the hiding place for the young offenders – on one of our largest soundstages.
‘Wild Republic’ is produced by Lailaps Pictures GmbH, X Filme Creative Pool in co-production with MagentaTV, WDR, SWR, ARTE and ONE. The series was backed by Film- und Medienstiftung NRW, among others. Beta Film is handling global sales.
