"Clever abgestaubt": New quiz show about antiques from April 3, 2017 on ZDFneo

Quiz show meets antiques: "Clever abgestaubt" is the name of the new format with Steven Gätjen, which is being produced at MMC Studios in Cologne and will be available from Monday, April 3, 2017, 7:30 pm, which can be seen every weekday on ZDFneo.

What's special about the format is that the candidates don't use their general knowledge to win money, but instead secure one of twelve antique objects with each correct answer, without knowing their true value. In the end, the team whose collection is worth the most wins.

In the quiz show "Clever abgestaubt" ("Cleverly dusted off"), Cologne's MMC Studio 34 three teams of two compete against each other, who have to prove their knowledge about antiques.

In the pairs of candidates there is one who faces the quiz questions and one who, after a correct answer, decides which item will be included in the duo's collection. The choice is between real treasures and worthless junk.

While the candidates first build up their own collection in the first round, they are allowed to "steal" from their opponents' collections in the following rounds.

The goal is to earn a highly valued collection - because the winning team wins the real equivalent of the highest valued antique won.

Initially planned are 20 episodes of the 45-minute weekday program.

"Clever dusted" is a production of Tower Productions. MMC Studios are commissioned by Tower Productions for the technical implementation responsible for the new quiz show and for the Decoration construction. From MMC's side, "Clever abgestaubt" is supervised by Account Manager Anika Pech.
