Thriller ‘Aquilegia’ Set to Shoot in Croatia

The audiovisual media design students of the MIB International Media and Business Academy at the MMC Studios in Cologne are currently working on their first big film project.

Their thriller ‘Aquilegia’ tells the story of a young couple visiting the abandoned prison island of Goli Otok off the Croatian coast. The couple is having fun exploring the ruins, but when the boat does not return at the agreed time, the story takes an unexpected turn. The leading roles are played by professional actors Clara Immel, Charif Ounis, and Richard Bargel.

The short film from a script by students Jonas Mertens and Dominic Leue will be directed by Maximilian Altpass and photographed by Luca Lederer and Hendrick Dyga. Overall, 20 students of the MIB Akademie are involved in the project.

Post-production house WeFadeToGrey and MMC Studios are supporting the students with color grading services at MMC’s grading theater “The Suite”.

To finance the film, the students also set up a crowdfunding campaign which is very well on its way to reaching its target.
