This Friday, ‘Die Rüden’ (The Rude) will celebrate its world premiere at the 53rd Hof International Film Festival. Major parts of Connie Walther’s feature film were shot at MMC Studios.
The story of the film revolves around four unrepentant criminals, three extremely unpredictable dogs and a woman who is ready to fight helpless institutions and the cycle of violence – but also her own doubts about salvation from evil.
The film’s concept was created by director and Grimme Award winner Connie Walther and Nadin Matthews. Cinematography is by Birgit Gudjonsdottir.
The cast includes Nadin Matthews, Ibrahim Al-Khalil, Konstantin Philippe Benedikt, Ali Khalil, Marcel Andrée, Sabine Winterfeldt, Robert Mehl, Gerd Schuster and Mathis Landwehr.
Hands-on producers GmbH, Cologne, produced the movie in co-production zero one film, Berlin, and SWR in collaboration with ARTE.
The film was backed by Film- und Medienstiftung NRW, BKM, MFG Baden-Wuerttemberg, and FFA.
On October 25, the premiere will be held at 9:00 p.m. at the City Theater in Hof.
Additional screenings are scheduled for October 26 at 10:30 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. at the Scala Theater.
