After 37 days of shooting, the final take of THE OPERATIVE (AT) was shot in Cologne on August 10, 2018. of the award-winning Israeli director Yuval Eagle (BETHLEHEM]. Except in Cologne and at the MMC Studios was also shot for the star-studded thriller in Israel, Bulgaria, Leipzig and Rheinbach.
Diane Kruger (TROJA, INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS), winner of the acting prize at Cannes for FROM NOWHERE, stars in this riveting spy thriller about loyalty and love. Also starring alongside her in the male parts are Emmy® winner Martin Freeman (SHERLOCK, BLACK PANTHER, THE HOBBIT) and the Canadian actor Cas Anvar (SOURCE CODE, DIANA, RAUM) prominently.
In THE OPERATIVE (AT), Diane Kruger plays Rachel, a Mossad agent who disappears without a trace during her father's funeral. The only clue to her whereabouts is a mysterious message to her contact Thomas (Martin Freeman) in Germany, who is then summoned by the Mossad. Thomas is tasked with finding out if Rachel poses a threat to the mission, while at the same time trying to protect her.
Yuval Adler's script is based on the Israeli bestseller "The English Teacher" by Yiftach Rich Atir, a former Israeli intelligence officer who provides firsthand insight into the work of the Mossad. As DoP Kolja Brandt who has already directed international productions such as COLONIA DIGNIDAD and DER JUNGE KARL MARX.
Producers of the German-Israeli-French co-production are Viola Fügen and Michael Weber (Match Factory Productions), Eitan Mansuri and Jonathan Doweck (Spiro Films), Anne Carey (Archer Gray) and Jean Labadie (Le Pacte). Teddy Schwarzman (THE IMITATION GAME, MUDBOUND, BEN IS BACK) serves as executive producer.
The film is co-produced in Germany by Dietmar Güntsche and Martin Rohé (Neue Bioskop Film) and Meike Savarin (Little Shark Entertainment).

Weltkino Filmverleih will release THE OPERATIVE (AT) in 2019.
