As of November 22, 2018, MMC Movies' co-production "Eleanor & Colette" is available on DVD and Video on Demand, and has been available as a digital download since November 8.

Told after a true incident Director Bille August (Night Train to Lisbon, The Haunted House) in "Eleanor & Colette" tells the story of the very special friendship of two completely different women and their common fight for justice. Two women who stand up for what should be a matter of course for everyone - self-determination and humanity - and who in doing so show in a way that is as rousing as it is inspiring what strength can develop when one stands up for one's own convictions.

In the leading roles inspire Helena Bonham Carter (The King's Speech, Alice in Wonderland) as Eleanor Riese and Hilary Swank (Million Dollar Baby) as their attorney Colette Hughes; supporting roles include. Jeffrey Tambor as well as Johan Heldenbergh and Cynthia Hoppenfeld to see.

History:
Eleanor Riese (Helena Bonham Carter) suffers from paranoid schizophrenia and knows that she can only live an independent life with medication. However, when severe side effects become apparent during a voluntary hospital stay and her doctors ignore Eleanor's pleas to have a say in her medication, she hires lawyer Colette Hughes (Hilary Swank) to do just that.

In a virtually hopeless case, the two stand up to an overpowering establishment of pharmaceutical industry and doctors, but manage to take their case all the way to the Supreme Court.

They are united by a common struggle for self-determination, with which the equally eccentric and lovable Eleanor upsets the life of the dogged Colette and which ultimately makes her more than a client: they become friends who support each other, learn from each other and change each other's lives...
