Shooting for the sci-fi thriller "Stowaway" at MMC Studios

MMC Studios is currently filming the sci-fi thriller "Stowaway" from director Joe Penna took place. Penna wrote the screenplay together with Ryan Morrison. The main roles play Anna Kendrick, Toni Colette, Daniel Dae Kim and Shamier Anderson.

"Stowaway" tells of a Mars mission in which an undiscovered stowaway (Shamier Anderson) accidentally causes irreparable damage to the spacecraft's life-support systems. Faced with dwindling resources and a potentially fatal fate, the scientist (Anna Kendrick) is the only one to resist the ice-cold logic of the commander (Toni Collette) and the biologist on board (Daniel Dae Kim).

The Filming started in mid-June and will be completed by the end of July. Until July 24, the following are being built in the 26 m high MMC Studio 52 in Cologne Exterior shots on the spaceship with numerous Stunt scenes in simulated weightlessness.

augenschein Filmproduktion - Jonas Katzenstein and Maximilian Leo - and RISE PICTURES - Ulrich Schwarz - are producing with XYZ Films - Aram Tertzakian and Nick Spicer in association with RainMaker Films - Clay Pecorin - and Yale Productions.

The elaborate VFX are by RISE Visual Effects Studios. The project is supported by the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW, the FFF Bayern and the DFFF.

Sony will release the film worldwide in 2020, Wild Bunch in Germany and France.
