"Cunningham 3D" will be released in theaters on December 19, 2019.

On Dec. 19, Camino Filmverleih will release Alla Kovgan's "Cunningham 3D," which was shot at MMC Studios, among other locations, in German theaters.

The documentary film awakens the legendary choreographies by Merce Cunningham - danced by the last members of his famous company - once again to life.

In poetic images, the film accompanies Cunningham's artistic career in the period from 1944 to 1972, which was characterized by risk-taking and innovative power. From the early years in New York, in which Cunningham tried to assert himself as a dancer, to his breakthrough as one of the world's most visionary choreographers.

Supported by 3D technology his story and his ideas combine to create an emotional journey into the world of the choreographer. His life's work and ideas still influence artists and choreographers around the world.

The Production of Attention Panda! Media (D) in co-production with Arsam International (F) and Chance Operations (US) was produced with the participation of BR and Arte. The studio recordings were made, among others, in the MMC Studios. The film was sponsored by Film- und Medien Stiftung NRW, FFHSH, MFG, FFA, CNC and BKM.
