With the feature film INSIDE, new financing models and the signing of Peter Kreutz as head of production, MMC Movies Köln GmbH is strengthening its profile as an attractive co-production partner for feature films and high-end series.
Recently the international feature film INSIDE, which was produced in an inner-German co-production between Zhivago film, Berlin, and MMC Movies, Cologne, has received 750,000 euros in funding from the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW. The international production partner is Heretic (GR). Vassilis Katsoupis' arthouse thriller will 2020 shot for the most part at MMC Studios. The camera takes over Thimios Bakatakis (THE KILLING OF A SACRED DEER).
Under the leadership of managing director Jens Wolf and Bastie Griese MMC Movies will in future significantly More active coproductions as Griese emphasizes: "MMC Movies' strategic focus is clearly on expanding its co-production activities. INSIDE is a great starting shot for this. We would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere thanks to the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW, which is supporting this exciting project."
Further projects are already in the pipeline, but the sustainable expansion of production activities is to be driven forward. Also through new models of film financingas Wolf underlines: "We have developed attractive, flexible financing models that substantially support our co-production partners and us in the implementation of projects. As the film production arm of MMC Studios and based on our new shareholder structure, we have a whole range of interesting options in this area. This enables us to finance up to 50% of a production."
An elementary component of the strategy is the powerful line-up of the fiction team. In addition to the managing directors Wolf and Griese acts Neshe Demir as producer. The trained dramaturg, director and actress is responsible for co-producing INSIDE and other projects for MMC Movies.

Peter Kreutz first studied at the film school ZELIG in Italy, in order to follow up with a degree in film production at the "Konrad Wolf" University of Applied Sciences in 1993. Already in 1994 he founded his own production company, with which he produced several films for cinema and television.
In addition, as Head of Production, he supervised numerous national and international co-productions, such as 7500, BAGHDAD IN MY SHADOW, ELEANOR & COLETTE, ROBBI, TOBBI UND DAS FLIWATÜT and THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK. Most recently, he was responsible for Visar Morina's feature film EXIL, which premiered at Sundance Film Festival and will now be presented at the Berlinale in the Panorama section.
Jens Wolf, Bastie Griese, Peter Kreutz and Neshe Demir will be present at the Berlinale from February 20 - 26, 2020 to discuss upcoming film and series projects with potential partners.
