Cologne, January 13, 2021: MMC Studios is filling the newly created position of Senior Manager Innovation & Technology with immediate effect with Fabian Leimbach. In his function, he reports directly to the management.

Leimbach's future tasks at MMC Studios include the development of new product offerings and technologies based on an international production approach. In addition to the MMC Group's new OB van, this also includes the topic of "remote production.

The planning of complex productions with new technologies and production approaches, e.g. in the field of "reality TV production", is also part of his job. Particularly in the case of technically demanding productions, extensive customer consulting is also at the center of his activities.

In addition, Leimbach will plan future technology events at MMC Studios as well as training for employees in the MMC Group and drive inter-action between MMC Studios and Crosscast so that technical skills and new production approaches are developed and shared bidirectionally.

Jens Wolf, Managing Director of MMC Studios: "For MMC, the year 2021 is all about technical innovations and we are delighted that Fabian Leimbach is supporting us with his expertise in planning and implementing these innovations. Examples are our new UHD HDR OB van, which will be available as early as January, and our Innovation Days, where we will present new technologies to our customers as soon as the corona situation allows.

Due to his strong customer loyalty and extensive experience in outdoor and studio productions, international eSports events as well as in the planning and implementation of directorial fixed installations, Fabian Leimbach is the ideal person for this exciting area and an important building block in our corporate strategy."

Fabian Leimbach comes from Crosscast GmbH, the internationally operating external production arm of the MMC Group, where he was Technical Manager since 2020.

Crosscast is a sought-after production partner for the technical implementation of innovative TV productions for the classic production houses as well as remote productions and smart productions on a flight case basis. In the field of eSports, Crosscast produces tournaments on five continents. In addition, the company realizes permanent installations, such as studio control rooms and virtual studios.

Previously, Leimbach was with ESL Gaming - Turtle Entertainment, Cologne, since the end of 2016, where he was Technical Director and Head of Engineering, overseeing the productions of ESL eSports events around the world.

At ESL, Leimbach was also involved in the planning and implementation of the ESL innovation concept as head of technical broadcast trades and global contact for broadcast and concept development.

This included the redesign and new conception of national and international broadcasts, the remote broadcast concept development, the new construction of flight case control rooms and other production equipment, as well as the planning and implementation of virtual reality and augmented reality productions.
