DSDS and MMC Studios on Rhine cruise - to be seen from today on RTL

On Tuesday, January 5, 2021, DSDS will start its 18th season with the first of 13 casting episodes. MMC Studios was again responsible for the technical TV production and set construction during the castings.

The Castings (recording in September 2020) found complete on the ship "Blue Rhapsody which is supported by the UNESCO World Heritage Upper Middle Rhine Valley and passed the Roman cities of Mainz, Koblenz and Cologne. The floating DSDS location was accompanied by the hotel ship "Oscar Wilde," on which the crew and jury stayed during the trip.

On behalf of UFA SHOW & FACTUAL was the MMC Art Department responsible for the decoration on board the "Blue Rhapsody" and the Technical Operations Team of MMC was at the castings for the technical TV production in use.

The Postproduction was then carried out at MMC Studios in Cologne.

During the cruise through the Rhine Valley with the world-famous Loreley, the green vineyards and numerous castles, the singers were evaluated by the jury and could hope for the Recall slip.

On the way the ship made stop in different citiesto pick up and drop off new singing talent. Stations were Rüdesheim, Bacharach, St. Goar, Boppard, Braubach, Koblenz, Andernach, Linz on the Rhine, Königswinter, Cologne, Düsseldorf and Duisburg. Only about 100 singers finally received the coveted Recall note.

"Deutschland sucht den Superstar," season 18 (total of 22 episodes), from 05.01.21, always tuesdays and saturdays at 8:15 p.m. on RTL.
