The coming-of-age drama "Sunburned" by director Carolina Hellsgård is now available as video-on-demand on Amazon Prime Video, Google Play, Videoload and on iTunes. The digital color correction for the film, called color grading, was done by WeFadeToGrey at the color grading theater "The Suite" at MMC Studios.
"Sunburned" connects the fates of two young people in an unagitated way, lets worlds collide without being loud. And yet, as a viewer, you feel the full force of emotionality and depth. In this coming-of-age film with a socially highly relevant subtext, the sought-after up-and-coming director Carolina Hellsgård once again demonstrates a sure sense of tonality and film language.
Synopsis:
Headstrong Claire (13) is spending the vacations with her older sister Zoe (15) and their mother Sophie (40) in a hotel on the beach in Andalusia. Sophie spends her days by the pool and shows minimal interest in her daughters. At first, Claire clings to her older sister Zoe. But when Zoe falls in love with Michael, a boy her own age, Claire is on her own. On the beach, she meets Amram, a young Senegalese beach vendor. She wants to help him, but in doing so unintentionally makes his desperate situation even more hopeless.

The Color grading for the feature film was created by WeFadeToGrey at Color Grading-Theatre "The Suite" of MMC Studios performed.
"The Suite" was designed as a cinema, which features a 40-square-meter screen, 4K projection technology, Dolby Atmos sound and a separate lounge area.
For the digital color correction the latest versions of the grading systems "Baselight" from FilmLight and "DaVinci Resolve" from Blackmagic Design are available.
"Sunburned" is a production of NiKo Film (DE) in co-production with Flickfi lm (DE), The Film Kitchen (NL) and Staron Film(PL). Participating broadcasters are WDR, SWR and arte.
