Swiss and international successes for MMC Zodiac co-production PAPA MOLL

PAPA MOLL, distributed by The Walt Disney Company (Switzerland), has been showing on the screens of Swiss cinemas since December 21, 2017. Probably Switzerland's best-known family man has already recorded over 100,000 moviegoers here. With this excellent result, PAPA MOLL advances already three weeks after its theatrical release to the most successful Swiss film since DIE GÖTTLICHE ORDNUNG (theatrical release March 9, 2017), also produced by Zodiac Pictures.

In addition to its success in Switzerland, PAPA MOLL is also making good news internationally: The rights sale to Germany, Austria, France, Italy, Spain, China, Australia, New Zealand, Turkey, Estonia and the Middle East is already a done deal before the film's international premiere. ARRI Worldsales is responsible for international exploitation.

On April 12, 2018, the family fun entitled PAPA MOLL UND DIE ENTFÜHRUNG DES FLIEGENDEN HUNDES will be released in cinemas in Germany and Austria.

A weekend alone at home with the kids - and already chaos breaks out at Papa Moll. While Moll is working overtime at the chocolate factory, a merciless battle breaks out between his children and the offspring of his boss: over cotton candy, punitive tasks and the most famous circus dog in the world.

The children's and family film was supported by the Federal Office of Culture, Zurich Film Foundation, Swiss Radio and Television SRF, SRG SSR, Teleclub, Canton Lucerne and Aargau, German Federal Film Fund, Suissimage and MEDIA Development. Other partners are the Stiftung Gesundheitsförderung Bad Zurzach + Baden, the municipality of Bad Zurzach and Aargau Tourismus.

It is based on the picture stories by Edith Oppenheim-Jonas, which were published by Globi Verlag Zürich. The 30th Papa Moll volume was also published there on October 13, 2017.

Filming took place in August and September 2016 in Switzerland, in the MMC Studios Cologne and in Görlitz took place.

On April 12, 2018, polyband will release PAPA MOLL AND THE DISAPPEARANCE OF THE FLYING DOG in German cinemas.
