From today in the cinema: "Papa Moll and the abduction of the flying dog".

Today, the MMC co-production "Papa Moll und die Entführung des fliegenden Hundes" starts in theaters. For the turbulent family adventure, filming was also done at MMC Studios.

About the content:
A weekend alone at home with the kids - and already chaos breaks out at Papa Moll. While Moll is working overtime at the chocolate factory, a merciless battle breaks out between his children and the offspring of his boss: over cotton candy, punitive tasks and the most famous circus dog in the world.

The lovable Papa Moll and his family are not only Swiss cultural assets. In Germany, too, the cartoon character became very well known when he appeared in the Junior magazines. 1.5 million minor products have found their way to young readers over more than six decades.

Now finally follows the Motion picture, which takes the audience into a fairy-tale past and creates a turbulent spectacle for the whole family offers.

In the title role, two-time Grimme Award winner Stefan Kurt ("Pettersson and Findus II & III," "A Tick Different," "The Semmeling Affair") as Papa Moll.

For production:
The shooting of "Papa Moll and the abduction of the flying dog" began on August 6, 2016 and lasted 36 days. The main motifs were shot in the canton of Aargau in Switzerland.

Further shots were taken in Bad Zurzach (Pompinelli circus, police station, thermal baths and dive bar), Baden (Murmlikon town center) and Strengelbach (Haus Moll exterior & garden) before the team moved on to Cologne to shoot the interior of Haus Moll in the MMC Studios capture. For this purpose the MMC Equipment Department at Studio 41 the residential house set after the Production design by Julian R. Wagner ("V8 - Du willst der Beste sein"). On September 28, 2016, the final take was shot in Görlitz, where the scenes in the chocolate factory were filmed at the Landskron brewery.

The Direction led Manuel Flurin Hendry, who together with Matthias Pacht and Jann Preuss also wrote the screenplay for the funny family adventure. The picture design was taken over by Cinematographer Felix Novo de Oliveira ("Rico, Oskar and the Thief Stone").

The film is based on the picture stories of Edith Oppenheim-Jonaspublished by Globi Verlag Zurich.

The German-Swiss co-production was produced by the producers of "Heidi" - the production team Luke Hobi and Reto Schaerli from Zodiac Pictures ("The Divine Order", "Gotthard") - in co-production with MMC Zodiac (Cologne), SRF, Impuls Media Group and Teleclub.

The film was supported by the Federal Office of Culture, Zurich Film Foundation, Swiss Radio and Television SRF, SRG SSR, Teleclub, Canton of Lucerne and Aargau, German Federal Film Fund, Suissimage and MEDIA Development. Other partners are the Stiftung Gesundheitsförderung Bad Zurzach + Baden, the municipality of Bad Zurzach and Aargau Tourismus.

Polyband brings the children's and family film to German theaters.
